DLIS Institution For Bangladeshi Students
“Designated Learning Institution.” Designated Learning Institutions are educational institutions approved by provincial or territorial governments to host international students on a study permit. These institutions must meet certain criteria set by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to be eligible to host international students.
International students who wish to study at a Canadian institution must obtain a study permit. To be eligible for a study permit, the institution they plan to attend must be designated by IRCC as a DLI. This designation ensures that the institution meets certain standards regarding the quality of education, facilities, and support services provided to international students.
Please note that all primary and secondary schools in Canada are automatically designated learning institutions and are not listed here.
DLI status is an important consideration for both prospective international students and Canadian educational institutions seeking to host them. If you’re planning to attend a post-secondary school, ensure that it appears on this list.
If your chosen institution loses its DLI status while you’re studying, you’re permitted to continue your studies until your study permit expires. However, you may need to seek admission to a new DLI under certain circumstances.
Pathway to PR
Becoming a Canadian Permanent Resident (PR) offers a myriad of benefits, making it an appealing option for those seeking a fresh start. With PR status, individuals gain the freedom to reside and work anywhere in Canada, access top-notch healthcare and education systems, and pursue diverse career opportunities.
Moreover, Canadian PR status serves as a pathway to citizenship, facilitating deeper integration into the country’s multicultural fabric. It also enables individuals to sponsor family members, ensuring their loved ones can share in Canada’s stability and opportunities.
Canada PR points system
Remember, meeting the minimum requirement of 67 points is crucial for eligibility for permanent residency in Canada.
Canadian Experience Class eligibility
To be eligible for permanent residence under the Canadian Experience Class you must have completed, within the three years before you apply, at least:
- 12 months of full-time work
- 30 hours/week for 12 months = 1 year full-time (1,560 hours)
- Equal amount in part-time hours (accepted)
- 15 hours/week for 24 months = 1 year full-time (1,560 hours)
- 30 hours/week for 12 months across more than 1 job = 1 year full-time (1,560 hours)
Understanding PR documentation
A crucial document issued to PR holders, serving as proof of their status when travelling in and out of Canada. Renewal is typically required every five years.
For PR holders outside of Canada needing to return, a PRTD allows re-entry when a valid PR Card is unavailable.
Maintaining PR status
